What’s New in the 2022 Hyundai Sonata

Unlike many other models, Sonata doesn’t undergo significant changes or massive overhauls, mostly owing to its already near-perfect design. However, Hyundai has introduced a Night Edition with the 2022 model, now available only with the N Line trim.

Performance Features of the 2022 Hyundai Sonata

The sharp handling capabilities of the latest model elevate the sedan to a whole new level. Also, it works spectacularly across most terrains and remains composed throughout the ride. Responsiveness of the vehicle has improved over the years, and it has become firmer, assuring seamless drives. Most of these qualities could be chalked up to the turbocharged 1.6-liter engine that combines well with the eight-speed automatic transmission to offer smoother motion.

One of the notable highlights of the 2022 model is the availability of conventional automatic transmission. On the other hand, Sonata hybrid houses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with a motor-generator assembly to generate up to 192 horsepower. As a result, the Blue Hybrid receives a whopping 50 mpg in cities and 54 mpg on highways. However, the other hybrids go up to 25 and 51 mpg, whereas the highway ratings of the turbocharged models are only 36 and 33 mpg.
